Course Description: Students learn about the art and science of qualitative inquiry as it relates to the interface between people and places: readings and examples will focus on topics related to environmental justice, sustainability and community. Students explore the important and complex ethical considerations involved when research involves human participants. Students are guided through the development of a research proposal – from asking questions to choosing the right methods and methodologies to support answering those questions.
